URBAN PORT

... because Berlin has more to offer than the Spree ... You can find out hand how a lock works if you want to get into the calm fairway of the Landwehr Canal, in the middle of the pulsating and densely populated Kreuzberg. Once a defensive border, later a drainage ditch for the Berlin swamp, then expanded in the 19th century and a supply artery for Berlin, the canal is now primarily used by leisure captains. Numerous riverside meadows invite you to linger, on Tuesdays or Fridays the lively weekly market greets you on the Maybachufer. Going ashore is highly recommended (a canoe is ideal for transporting full shopping bags!). Past the synagogue, under the romantic Admiralsbrücke, we finally land in the Urbanhafen. The restaurant ship Van Loon is anchored here and invites you to refresh yourself in its highly recommended galley. For self-caterers, the gently sloping bank meadows are a welcome invitation to enjoy a well-deserved picnic. Strengthened, the way home is child's play ...
